Jonathan Gonzalez is a construction attorney for Plumtree & Brunner LLP who works in all areas of construction law, including mechanics liens, bonded stop notices, delay claims, and CSLB license defense.

Jonathan grew up in the Heart of Harbor, Wilmington, California, where he attended Phineas Banning High School. Jonathan played, and later coached, basketball at Phineas Banning High School before leaving coaching behind to pursue law. In his formative years in Wilmington, California, Jonathan shined as an advocate, teammate, and leader.

Prior to starting law school, Jonathan worked both as a Maintenance Supervisor at one of the largest Property Management Companies in the South Bay, and as a basketball coach at Phineas Banning High School. In his time as a maintenance supervisor and basketball coach, Jonathan found an interest in real estate law and construction, as well as an interest in serving his community at large.

In law school, Jonathan was a team member of a competitive negotiation team, where he and his teammate, led California Western School of Law’s ADR team to multiple competition wins, including a win in the 2021 American Bar Association National Negotiation Competition, where California Western came in first place in a competition featuring 168 teams from 82 law schools from across the United States.

Upon graduating from law school and passing the California Bar, Jonathan joined Plumtree & Brunner LLP as an associate attorney. In practice, Jonathan seeks to combine his interests in negotiation, construction, and real estate law to help serve underrepresented contractors and homeowners.
