Partner | Construction Lawyer
Nicholas Brunner is a construction attorney with Plumtree & Brunner who works in all areas of construction law, including mechanics liens, bonded stop notices, delay claims, and CSLB license defense. Nicholas also has experience in employment and business litigation.
Nicholas was born and raised in South Orange County where he played Waterpolo and spent his summers working as a beach lifeguard and an EMT-certified beach lifeguard supervisor. From an early age, Nicholas developed a strong affinity for public speaking, debating, and competition.
Nick Brunner is a partner at Plumtree & Brunner LLP whose practice is dedicated to the representation of contractors, developers, and construction professionals in complex construction and business disputes.
Before entering the legal profession, Nick worked as a beach lifeguard and EMT-certified beach lifeguard supervisor. That experience helped shape his ability to remain calm under pressure, think critically in fast-moving situations, and make sound decisions in high-stakes environments. During law school, Nick developed a strong affinity for the theoretical and analytical aspects of the law, graduating in the top 10% of his class and earning an award as the top tax law student in his graduating class.
As a business owner himself, Nick particularly enjoys helping construction company owners and high-level managers evaluate legal risk while making important business decisions. He understands that construction disputes often involve far more than legal issues alone and works closely with clients to develop practical strategies centered on minimizing risk, protecting business relationships, and navigating ongoing project challenges effectively.
Nick possesses a well-balanced arsenal of trial advocacy, strategic negotiation, and effective motion practice skills. He also has a strong ability to understand technical and complex legal issues and explain them in a practical, straightforward manner to his clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
Outside of his practice, Nick enjoys weightlifting, listening to audiobooks, playing chess, and spending time outdoors, especially at the beach.
