Mediation Without Attorneys
Do you have a construction dispute but do not want to pay for an attorney?
Trial or arbitration can be cost prohibitive for small construction disputes when the monetary amount in dispute is between $10,000 and $40,000. This is especially true when attorneys are involved.
A less expensive alternative to trial and arbitration is mediation.
Mediation is a voluntary dispute resolution process in which a neutral professional (mediator) helps parties in a monetary dispute negotiate effectively with each other to resolve their disagreement.
If an agreement is reached, the mediator will help the parties craft a settlement agreement that will resolve the dispute once and for all. If an agreement is not reached, the parties are free to proceed with trial or arbitration.
Plumtree & Associates has created a non-binding construction mediation program that is designed to help property owners and contractors resolve construction disputes between $10,000 and $40,000 without the necessity of attorneys—although attorneys are allowed to attend.

Mike Gray of Plumtree & Brunner is a mediator with 22 plus years of experience as a construction attorney.
Mr. Gray uses his vast knowledge of construction law to assist the parties in reaching a resolution by helping them understand the strengths and weaknesses of their cases and predicting what a judge or jury would be likely to do.
At the same time, both parties can rest assured that all information and documents provided to Mr. Gray will remain confidential.
Mr. Gray makes non-binding mediation as simple as possible, including conducting mediations via Zoom so the parties do not even need to leave their office or the construction job site trailer.
Mr. Gray mediates throughout California, including the following counties: San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside.
