Lio

Lio Ferrufino is an Associate Attorney in the Garden Grove office of Plumtree & Brunner LLP. 

Lio’s professional career began in the insurance industry after earning a degree in finance from California State University, Northridge in 2015. He began his insurance career as a claims adjuster in the management development program of a large national insurance carrier, where he gained early experience navigating complex claims matters and working directly with insureds. After just one year, he advanced into a supervisory role in Northern California, where he focused on the growth and development of trainees and helping insureds better understand and navigate the often-complex claims process. Through that experience, Lio developed a passion for explaining complicated processes in a way that empowered clients and team members to make informed decisions with confidence. That passion ultimately led him to pursue a legal career dedicated to guiding, educating, and advocating for clients navigating complex legal and business challenges.

Lio enjoys representing contractors and practicing construction law because of his personal connection to the industry. His father owned a flooring company, and many of the firm’s clients remind him of his dad – hardworking business owners doing their best to provide for their families while managing the everyday challenges of running a business. That background gives Lio a practical understanding of the construction industry and motivates him to advocate for clients. 
Lio brings a strong finance and business-oriented perspective to his practice that allows him to connect with clients in the construction industry. His background in insurance and claims handling also helped develop the communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills he uses to effectively represent clients and pursue the best possible outcome for his clients. 

Outside of the office, Lio enjoys following Los Angeles sports teams, including the Dodgers, Lakers, and Chargers. He is also an avid collector of comic books and retro video games.
